Roman Shower takes another step to towards Carbon Zero

Roman Showers are one of the leading shower manufacturers in the UK and are a UK manufacturer who are conscious about their carbon emissions. Roman have recently further reduced its environmental impact by replacing all company cars with fully electric models.

Going carbon neutral is becoming increasingly important in today’s world as the effects of climate change become more apparent. The importance of going carbon neutral lies in the fact that carbon emissions are a major contributor to climate change.

By going carbon neutral can help mitigate the effects of climate change and reduce our impact on the environment.

It has furthered its commitment to becoming Carbon Zero by reducing emissions from its company car fleet and installed charging points at its headquarters in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

Roman has been working on its environmental credentials for over 10 years, embracing the Circular Economy and achieving Carbon Neutral status in 2021.

All Roman products are sustainable and the company embeds the circular economy principles throughout its supply chain which focus on recycling before and after the life of a product.

All the aluminium used in Roman’s production is 100% recycled before use and at the end of life.

Likewise, Roman’s solid surface moulding and fabrication plants use material which is predominantly natural stone which can be reground back to its original value and re-used.

The brass used for the hardware such as shower enclosure handles is made from 100% recycled material and it is working glass with suppliers to be close to 100% recycled content in 2024.

Additionally, all packaging is made from recycled card and can be fully recycled after use.

Roman recieved a Special Commendation at the Bathroom Manufacturers Association Sustainability Awards for its “comprehesive contribution to sustainability.”

Chief executive officer of Roman David Osborne commented: “Moving all company cars to fully electric was the next step on our environmental journey, with the long-term goal of becoming Carbon Zero.

“As the leading British shower enclosure manufacturer, we give huge focus to sustainability and further breakthroughs will be coming over the next few years.
