An inwall cistern is a great way of hinding plumbing and giving your bathroom a clean desiner look, simular to a wall hung toilet but with a floor standing back to wall toilet.

Installing a in-wall cistern can be a bit complex, but by following these steps, you can complete the installation process:
- Choose a suitable location: The Tavistock in-wall cistern should be installed in a suitable location where it can be easily accessed for maintenance and repair. Also, make sure that the wall is strong enough to support the weight of the cistern.
- Prepare the wall: The wall should be prepared by removing any tiles or plaster that might obstruct the installation process. Ensure that the wall is clean and flat before proceeding.
- Install the cistern frame: The cistern frame should be installed within the wall cavity. It is important to ensure that it is level and plumb before fixing it to the wall.
- Connect the water supply: Connect the water supply pipe to the inlet valve of the cistern. This should be done carefully to avoid leaks.
- Install the flushing mechanism: Install the flushing mechanism, including the flush button or plate, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Test the system: Before installing the wall covering, test the system to ensure that it is working properly. Flush the toilet and check for leaks.
- Install the wall covering: Install the wall covering such as tiles, plaster or drywall. Ensure that the flush button or plate is correctly aligned with the wall covering.
- Connect the toilet pan: Connect the toilet pan to the cistern frame. Ensure that the pan is level and flush with the floor.
- Finish the installation: Install the toilet seat and any other accessories required.
It’s important to note that the installation process can vary depending on the specific Tavistock in-wall cistern model and the installation environment. If you are not confident in your DIY skills, it’s best to seek professional help.
My favorite inwall cistern in the Tavistock In-wall Cistern as its fully insulated, has a number of flush plate options and easy to maintain and reapir should it need any repairs, but honestly from the 100’s ive installed I have only had one that had an issue which was just a small amount of debee inside keeping the flush open. Simply removed the cyphen and washed it out and no issues since.
