In recent posts I have talked about the advantages and disadvantages of different types of vanity tops within your bathroom.
Since this post I have learnt about a new product on the market which I had to share with you.
MultiPanel by Grant Westfield have recently launch a new vanity top range called hydroSTONE which adds all the advantages of there wood composite vanity board but with the added advantages toy get with a solid stone or granite vanity top.
MultiPanel are marketing this product as “hydroSTONE is a premium bathroom surface solution constructed from solid modified acrylic, boasting the striking finish solid surface material is renowned for” meaning you get the finish of a solid stone or granite but from an acrylic board.
“At 25mm deep, and with 3mm radiused edges and corners completing a stunning visual appeal, hydroSTONE is certain to enhance any bathroom. The versatile surface is most commonly used as a vanity top for back-to-wall furniture, and to create feature shelving.”
MultiPanel hydroSTONE vanity tops give you the added advantage over the wood composite boards in that it will never swell, or become “blown”, if you have a leak and the board is a solid piece like a solid stone vanity top. Also like a Solid stone worktop sink holes can be cut into the vanity tops for sunken sinks.
MultiPanel say “Whilst hydroSTONE solid surface tops are harder than wood or laminate, they can be cut with a jig saw, with bowl cut-outs and radiused edges created with a router. What’s more, the pattern runs throughout the material, therefore should scratching occur, they can be sanded out to preserve the beautiful finish.”
I received an sample from Multipanel and I have to say looking the test cutting the material it appears to offer all the advantages of the Solid Stone or Granite Vanity Top but with out the disadvantage of price and specialist fitting. HydroSTONE can be cut on site to suite and finished easily and quickly, giving you all the advantages of the wood composite vanity tops.
